The Spotted Bear Story
Spotted Bear Retreat has deep roots in the rugged history of northwest Montana. In the early 1950s, as the monumental Hungry Horse Dam was being constructed on the South Fork of the Flathead River, our original property was built in Martin City to house the hardworking craftsmen, engineers, and families who shaped this region.
Today, we proudly offer the best of both worlds: our iconic historic cabins (such as the Blue Cabin and A-Frame) lovingly restored with modern comforts, alongside our new custom-built modern cabins, glamping pods, and triplex suites in Columbia Falls and Martin City—featuring soaring timber ceilings, mini-split climate control, high-speed Wi-Fi, and private outdoor fire pits.
The Experience
